About Katie & Vincent
Katie and Vincent have more than three decades of experience in the equine industry. They share a passion for teaching and developing young dressage and jumper talent, and they have the resumes to prove it.
Katie is a USDF Gold Medalist who has represented the United States in the Young Horse Dressage Championships in Verden, Germany. She spent four years in Holland training under Anne van Olst, and continues to hone her craft with Morten Thomsen and Christopher Hickey. In 2017, Katie competed her Grand Prix prospect Avignon on the FEI small tour in Wellington. Vincent began his career starting young horses in France, and has worked under world-renowned showjumpers as Eric Lamaze, Rodrigo Pessoa and Mario Delauriers. He has excellent results at shows across Europe and the U.S., and has managed barns of up to 75 FEI-quality horses, including Lamaze’s “horse of a lifetime,” Hickstead. Both Katie and Vincent continue to actively compete. They have several young prospects in the dressage and jumpers with an eye towards Grand Prix competition.
The L’Acadiane Equine Management Approach
Given the pair’s background, Vincent and Katie agreed early on that a well-rounded training program includes a focus on cross training. Spending time on flatwork, in the field, and over cavaletti give the horses strength and balance in their work, and build riders’ confidence. On any given day at LAEM, you’ll find a full schedule of dressage and jumper lessons in the two arenas, with both Katie and Vincent sharing time with students as needed. Their tailored approach to both horse and rider creates a true partnership between equine and human athlete. The result is success in the show ring for students of both disciplines. You can find Katie, Vincent and the LAEM team at shows across the Northeast this summer. Come December, Katie and the dressage team head to Wellington to take advantage of the weather and competition calendar.
“It is a dream come true to do what we love every day!”
L’Acadians are French people who migrated to Louisiana. Vincent is French and Katie is from Louisiana. L’Acadiane Equine Management (LAEM) is a perfect name to represent their heritage and their shared passion for horses.
